The Story
Dave Burton is a CPA licensed in New York and Florida with over 15 years of experience spanning public accounting, corporate finance leadership, and entrepreneurship.
Before founding Maverick Advisors, Dave served as a Global Controller and CFO for mid-market companies, led audit and advisory engagements at top-tier firms, and built finance functions from the ground up for high-growth businesses.
Dave launched Maverick Advisors to bring institutional-grade finance and accounting to growing companies — without the overhead of a full-time hire. His approach blends deep technical expertise with AI-enabled workflows, delivering faster closes, cleaner books, and the kind of strategic clarity that drives real business decisions.
When he's not embedded with a client's finance team, Dave is building internal AI agents and tools that push the boundaries of what a modern outsourced finance practice can look like.
